Highlights from our October Meeting

During our October Stated Meeting on Monday, October 1, 25 Year Pins were awarded to Brothers in attendance and the Lodge agreed to make a $150 donation to Back Mountain Youth Basketball. Members were also informed that George M. Dallas Lodge will host District 12’s One-Day Masonic Journey. Brothers can attend the event which begins at 7:30 a.m. to welcome the new Brethren.

After a short intermission, Ray McPhail, Director of Projects for BP Wind Energy, discussed the company’s local efforts in northeastern Pennsylvania. McPhail stated that Wyoming County’s wind farm is expected to generate power by 2013. BP Wind Energy, with its business partner Sempra U.S. Gas & Power, is constructing 88 wind turbines stretching from Noxen to Mehoopany. The more than $250 million project is expected to generate 141 megawatts of electricity a year, McPhail said.
